Inclusion Criteria

• a permanent, single or multi-rooted mature tooth
• clinical diagnosis of irreversible pulpitis
• diagnosis of apical periodontitis

Exclusion Criteria

• subjects with immune-compromised status
• subjects with an overall poor prognosis for their treatment
