Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. scheduled for elective bowel surgery.
  • 2\. ASA 1 or 2\.
  • 3\. duration of surgery \> 60 min.
  • 4\.Procedures where total gut irrigation is done to prepare the bowel (e.g. Posterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty,abdomino perineal pull through Duhamol procedure, colostomy closure, Hartmanâ??s procedure etc.)

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1Cardiopulmonary disease
  • 2\.Renal insufficiency
  • 3\.Hepatic failure
  • 4\.Anticipated massive bleeding/severe hypotension
  • 5\.Emergency procedure
  • 6\.Hb \<8gm/dl
