入选标准
- •patients aged 14 years or older; patients of both sexes; patients who needed periodontal treatment; patients that they were in their first appointment at the college clinics; patients with 12 or more teeth present; patients who presented, on the initial examination, 30% or more of dental faces with plaque in the Visible Plaque Index (IPV) and 30% or more of faces with gingival bleeding in the Gingival Bleeding Index (ISG) 28.
排除标准
- •patients smokers; patients former smokers; diabetics; women who were pregnant or breastfeeding; patients who had used antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs in the last 3 months; patients who used orthodontic appliances; patients with impaired mobility; illiterate patients.
