•To be eligible to participate in this study, a subject must meet all the
•following criteria: age 18 years or older, BPD confirmed with the Structured
•Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis II Personality Disorders (SCID II), AVH
•occurring at least weekly, capacity to consent and written informed consent for
•participation into this study from the patient. If they use antipsychotics, a
•stable dosage of antipsychotics the last month prior to inclusion is used as an
•additional criterion.

•- Metal objects in or around the head that cannot be removed (i.e. cochlear
•surgical clips, piercing)
•- History of seizures, or a history of seizures in first-degree relatives.
•- History of eye trauma with a metal object or professional metal workers
•- History of brain surgery, brain infarction, head trauma, cerebrovascular
•broken skull, brain tumor, heart disease, cardiac pacemaker.
•- Skin disease on the scalp on the position of the tDCS electrodes
•- Coercive treatment based on a judicial ruling
•- Pregnancy in female patients. A pregnancy test will be used in cases of doubt,
•e.g. females of childbearing age who are sexually active but do not use any form
•of contraceptives.
•- Being diagnosed with a schizophrenia spectrum disorder
