Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • All subjects with DSM V Axis I diagnosis of Anxiety Disorders that was ascertained using the Structured Diagnostic Interview for DSM V (SCID) interview format. Patients having a minimum baseline total Hamilton Anxiety Rating (HAM\-A) score \>\= 9\. These will include: separation anxiety disorder, selective mutism, specific phobia, social phobia, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and generalized anxiety disorder, Obsessive\-Compulsive Disorders (obsessive\-compulsive disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, hoarding disorder, trichotillomania, and excoriation disorder) and trauma and Stressor\-Related Disorders (reactive attachment disorder, disinhibited social engagement disorder, PTSD, acute stress disorder, and adjustment disorder). Patients with other co\-morbid DSM V Axis I disorders (e.g., minor depression) will not be excluded from the trial if the co\-morbid condition does not constitute the primary disorder.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients will be excluded from the trial if they have a current diagnosis of major depressive disorder, Other exclusion criteria are patients receiving treatment for thyroid disorders (T3, T4 and TSH), unstable medical condition, epilepsy, mental retardation, memory problem, sensory impairment, pregnancy, hepatic or renal insufficiency and malignancy.
