Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Periodontitis patient Stage II Periodontitis
- •Stage III Periodontitis with or without Type 2 DM
- •Patients with a minimum number of 14 natural teeth.
- •Patients who are ready to give informed consent and willing to undergo treatment and follow-ups
Exclusion Criteria
- •1. History of Type I diabetes mellitus in both groups and Type II DM in Group 2
- •2. Sites with vertical bone defects, furcation defects
- •3. History of other known systemic diseases like hypertension, human immuno-deficiency virus, bone disorders, immunosuppressive therapy, radiation therapy, cancer or blood disorders
- •4. Patients on medications known to affect the outcomes of periodontal therapy
- •5. Patients who have undergone periodontal therapy in the preceding 6 months
- •6. Patients who have undergone antibiotic therapy preceding 6 months
- •7. Faulty tooth-brushing technique
- •8. Pregnant or lactating mothers
- •9. Use of tobacco in any form
