Inclusion Criteria
1.Age 18 years and above
2.Persons who described themselves as current smokers and smoked more than or equal to 1 bidis or cigarettes per day
3.According to Fagerstrom Nicotine dependance questionnaire, subjects with score of 5 or less (mild To Moderate nicotine dependance) were selected.
Exclusion Criteria
1.History of psychiatric illness and use of nicotine replacement therapy within Three months before study enrolment.
2.Current use of NRT with smoking.
3.Patients using any form of smokeless tobacco.
4.Uncooperative patients.
5.Lack telephone access.
