Patient (bronchiectasis)
- Adults = 20 years
- Presence of past history of bronchiectasis exacerbation or pneumonia
(Bronchiectasis exacerbation is defined as an aggravation of respiratory symptoms, such as cough, amount or viscosity of sputum, hemoptysis, and dyspnea, for which additional treatment is necessary.
- Absence of past history of pneumococcal vaccination or 5 years later since pneumococcal vaccination
Healthy controls
- Adults without bronchiectasis
- Asymptomatic patients present with simple benign lung nodule
- Not being treated for chronic liver, kidney, lung or cancer
- Including subjects who do not meet the indication of pneumococcal vaccination
- Uncontrolled asthma, COPD
- Current treatment for active tuberculosis, lung cancer or interstitial lung disease
- Current treatment for bronchiectasis exacerbation
- Pregnancy
