TO FIND OUT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF BODY IMAGE AND FAT MEASUREMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AMONG THE PHYSIOTHERAPY STUDENTS

Brief Summary

This study is conducted to find out association between body image perception, anthropometric measurements and physical activity among the physiotherapy students. 127 subject was recruited by the convenience sampling method who were eligible for the study based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Informed consent will be obtain from students. Body and image perception measured by Body shape questionnaire 8c, BMI and skin fold measurements used for the fat estimation. International physical activity questionnaire used for the physical activity measurements.Data obtained was analysed  by using Statistical analysis software. Result showed a significant association between the body image perception and anthropometric measurements among females where as males are not showing the significant association. Similarly there was no association found between the body image perception and physical activity among both male and female students.

physiotherapy students undergraduates post graduates interns Willingness to participate All grades of BMI.

Exclusion Criteria

Orthopedic or neurological co-morbidities Cognitive disability Recent history of Surgery Previous diagnosis of anxiety and depression.
