To evaluate and compare the association of OGG1 and APE1 gene polymorphisms in patients with and without periodontitis in the South Indian population.

入选标准
- •Systemically healthy patients of age 30 to 60 are to be recruited for the study.
- •Ethnic South Indian subjects.
- •Control group to include subjects with no signs of periodontal disease and probing sulcus depth less than 3mm with no evidence of clinical attachment loss.
- •Test group to include patients with Probing Pocket Depth greater than 6mm and or Clinical Attachment Loss greater than 5mm in greater than 30 percentage of sites with periodontitis.
- •(Stage II/III Periodontitis).
排除标准
- •Patients with any other inflammatory systemic conditions such as diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
- •Patients with immunodeficiency disorders.
- •Patients with local modifiers like food impaction, factitious habits and bruxism.
- •Patients who smoke.
- •Use of orthodontic and prosthetic appliances.
- •6.Patients who had taken systemic antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, hormonal or other assisted drug therapy in the last 6 months or prior to the study.
