Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Presence of ankylosing spinal disease (ankylosing spondylitis or diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis, DISH, Forestiers disease, etc.).
  • Presence of an acute unstable thoracic or lumbar spine injury
  • surgical therapy by means of long\-distance dorsal instrumentation with internal fixator in CRIF or ORIF technique

Exclusion Criteria

  • Additionally, ventral stabilization of the fracture was performed
  • Pathological cause of fracture in the sense of primary bone tumors or metastases or on the basis of bacterial\-inflammatory diseases (spondylodiscitis)
  • Additional injuries of the lower extremities resulting in limited mobility in stance and gait
