A randomised comparative clinical study to evaluate the efficacy of virechana karma and ksheeradhara in raktagatavata w.s.r hypertension with sarpagandha churna as shamana aushadhi.

Hypertension is most common lifestyle disorder, It is chronic and often asymptomatic medical condition where BP elevated beyond normal limit.Various Ayurvedic scholar coined different name of Hypertension,Here Raktagatavata is corelated with Hypertension. Hypertension is directly responsible for 57% of all stroke deaths and 24% of all coronary heart dis-ease (CHD) deaths in India. It is the most potent risk factor for diseases of the brain, kidney, heart and peripheral arteries which may prove fatal if not man-aged effectively. Hypertension is a silent killer be-cause most sufferers (85%) are asymptomatic. In 95% of the cases of hypertension, the exact underlying cause is still unknown but is believed to be due to genetic and environmental factors. Hypertension can-not be considered as a Vyadhi (Disease) as per Ayurveda, but it can be understood by assessing the in-volved Doshas, Dooshyas (Entity which is affected by morbid Dosha), Srotas etc. Many Ayurvedic scholars have proposed different theories about how hypertension can be understood in Ayurveda, but there is no standardized and widely accepted view about the Ayurvedic pathogenesis of this condition. Thus, an attempt is made to understand the Samprapti of various types of hypertensions and to find an ideal Chikitsa Sutra ( treatment protocol)2-4 for the management of Raktagatavata.In this Study virechana and ksheeradhara has been applied along with Sarpagandha churna in Raktagatava. In modern medicine there are lots of Complication like, Pedal oedema, left ventricular hypcotrophy, So in Ayurvedic Medicine and therapy there is long lasting effect of over the disease hypertension and no side effects. This is a single centred two arm parallel group with blinded outcome,randomized control trial .Total 60 patient with (30-65) years of age irrespectively of sex , Primary Hypertension (Systolic 140-159 mm of Hg and Diastolic 90- 99 mm of Hg) will be divided into two groups.One on Virechana karma by Trivit Lehyam along with powder sarpagandha, second one ksheeradhara along with powder sarpagandha will be given to the participants.person will be selected strictly on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria for this trial programme.
