- •Department of Paediatrics, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.

- •1. Refusal of the parents to participate in the study
- •2. Children who are on anticoagulants or procoagulants
- •3. Malignancies
- •4. Recent fibrinolytic therapy
- •5. Stroke, Pulmonary embolism, Deep vein thrombosis
- •6. Sickle cell disease
- •7. Snake venomation
