Inclusion Criteria for Case subjects:
1. Patients diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and oro pharynx between 18 to 45 years of age.
2.Malignant neoplasms of the Lip, buccal mucosa,lower alveolus,retro molar trigone, oral tongue,floor of mouth (FOM), upper alveolus.hard palate, tonsils and the oro-pharynx.
Inclusion Criteria for Control subjects:
1. General walk-in people at the Out-Patient Department with a diagnosis of non-cancer conditions, and no chronic illness of the head and neck regions and no history of head and neck surgery and matching age(±5 years) and sex.
Exclusion criteria for Case subjects:
1. Patients with age more than 45 years.
2. The cancers of nasopharynx, hypopharynx and salivary glands.
Exclusion criteria for Control subjects:
1.Patients with age more than 45 years.

Name Time Method A study will be undertaken to evaluate the exposure potential carcinogenic factors amongst a sample aged between 18 and 45 years, diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity (Lip, buccal mucosa, lower alveolus, retro molar trigone, oral tongue, floor of mouth (FOM),upper alveolus. hard palate) and oro-pharynx. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 6 months <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1)To assess dentition and oral hygiene status in this group of patients. <br/ ><br>2)To find association of trauma, periodontitis, diet, family history, habits (duration and frequency) with occurence of cancer. <br/ ><br>3)To find association of area where the tobacco quid was placed in the mouth with occurrence of cancer. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 6 months
