Caucasian descent (up to the third generation)
Proficient in spoken and written German
Current comorbid mental disorders apart from other specific phobias, suicidality (BDI-II item 9>0), severe neurological and/or somatic disorders, illegal drug use (assessed by urine toxicology), pregnancy, impaired 3D sight (as assessed using a stereo depth perception test), general medical contraindications, intake of psychoactive medication, or concomitant psychotherapy. Lifestyle-related habits (smoking, alcohol consumption, caffeine intake, physical activity, diet, BMI) will be recorded; excessive alcohol (more than 14 glasses/week), cigarette (more than 20 cigarettes/day) and caffeine (more than 4 cups/day) consumption will lead to study exclusion.

Name Time Method Acrophobia symptoms measured using the Attitudes Towards Heights Questionnaire (ATHQ) and Acrophobia Questionnaire (AQ) before and after the intervention (at T0 and T1 - before and after six weeks after baseline).
