This cross-sectional study titled Academic Stress and Anxiety Among Grade 10th Students Studying in Various School Boards in Kolar District, Karnataka aims to assess the prevalence and determinants of academic stress and anxiety among secondary school students Recognizing the 10th grade as a critical academic phase in India the study investigates how different school boards State Board CBSE and ICSE affect students mental well-being in the context of academic demands
A total of approximately 2295 students from six taluks of Kolar district are included using multistage stratified sampling with complete enumeration in CBSE and ICSE schools and 10 percent sampling in State Board schools Data will be collected using a structured questionnaire comprising sociodemographic details the Manipal Inventory of Academic Stress MIAS and the Westside Test Anxiety Scale WTAS
The study explores associations between academic stress/anxiety and variables such as gender parental expectations type of school and socioeconomic background Findings aim to support the development of targeted school based mental health strategies and policy recommendations
