Inclusion Criteria
1. ASA I and II patients
2. Patients with body mass index between 18-30 kg/m2
3. Patient posted for open cholecystectomy
Exclusion Criteria
1. patients with known coagulopathy /thrombocytopenia
2. Localised infection at the proposed site of injection
3. Inability to comprehend the scoring systems to be employed
4. Known allergy to the drugs to be used
5. Opioid tolerance /dependence
6. Renal/hepatic impairment
7. Known cardio respiratory impairment or any neurological disorder
