Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Movement patterns of the hand and during walking using marker-based movement analysis, radar, radio tracking, body shell camera and EMG (electromyography) radio transponder (joint angles, movement speeds, joint forces, muscle activity), isometric grip strength (N), hand function (score: Moberg Picking up Test, Michigan Hand Questionnaire (MHQ), Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH Score), score for assessment and quantification of chronic rheumatic affections of the hands (SACRAH Score), presence of synovitis and tenosynovitis (by ultrasound: flexor tendons in B-mode and Doppler (Y/N) fingers 1-5; synovitis MCP 1-5 and wrists), muscle activity of finger and hand muscles (by EMG).
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Patients: Retrospective from available clinical data: Relationship of the primary outcome measures to clinical routine of the corresponding rheumatic disease (e.g. joint status (swollen/painful joints), MASES, BASMI, routine laboratory parameters) as well as patients' well-being (e.g. SF-36, HAQ), exercise-related health literacy (PAHCO) and exercise anxiety (TSK). Morphology of the bone of the hand and finger joints (e.g. erosions and osteophytes (number, volume (mm³), position); bone density) based on available HR-pQCT and MRI images.<br>Healthy study participants: Descriptive data will be collected via a survey of the study participants, such as fractures in the past, smoking status, menstrual history/menopause in women, medical history and dietary habits that could have an influence on bone/cartilage health (injuries, medications, supplements).
