Brief Summary

This study is a randomized controlledtrial to evaluate the effectiveness of sensory integration therapy on motoractivity among mentally challenged children. The purpose of the study is tomakes the child capable of doing daily activities independently.60 sample forthe study will be selected by lottery method of simple random sampling (30 forexperimental and, 30 for control). Basic information will be collected usingSocio demographic proforma and clinical data sheet. Pre test will be conductedby using structured observation checklist for motor activity assessment.Following pretest, sensory integration therapy will be given to sample that areincluded in experimental group. The subject in the experimental group will bedivided in to 6 groups, each group with five children. Sensory integrationtherapy will be provided one hour a day for 20 consecutive days. Post test willbe done immediately after the intervention by using same scale. After theactual study, the control group will also be provided with sensory integrationtherapy.The data analysis will be done using descriptive and inferentialstatistics.

Mild to moderate mentally challenged children with motor impairment.

Exclusion Criteria

Children with medical illness Visually and auditory impaired children.
