A study to assess the effectiveness of blended learning regarding care of neonates on ventilator in terms of competency of nursing students in selected nursing colleges of Ambala Haryana

The most frequent is pneumonia caused by using a ventilator is one that could have a significant negative impact on how well nurses treat critically ill newborns having pneumonia. Pneumonia induced by a ventilator has a high rate of morbidity, death, and increase length of NICU stay and increased healthcare expenses

Nurses should be vigilant to subtle variations such as early recognition of changes may prevent a significant deterioration. So, neonates on respiratory support should be have a constant nursing observation on heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, mode of mechanical ventilation, ABG results and auscultate chest sound.

So this motives for, blended learning is an exceptional way for educating nursing students about care of neonates on ventilator. The use of a mechanical ventilator during newborn care during blended learning increases learner familiarization and realistic interaction with the manikin and different intellectual aspect. As a result, adequate knowledge, skills, and clinical decision-making capacity in administering early care of neonates on ventilator remain the most crucial for nursing workers. As a result, the researcher saw a need to improve nursing students’ skills. Thus, the intent of doing this study was to determine the efficiency of blended learning in terms of nursing student competency in the care of newborn on mechanical ventilation
