Physiotherapy plays a vital role in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of various musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions. Despite its proven benefits, the awareness and utilization of physiotherapy services remain limited in many rural areas. Rural populations often face barriers such as lack of knowledge, limited access to healthcare services, and socioeconomic constraints, which may affect the use of physiotherapy care.
This study aims to assess the knowledge and utilization of physiotherapy services among rural patients attending SMBT Hospital. By evaluating patients’ awareness, understanding, and patterns of physiotherapy service use, the study seeks to identify gaps between knowledge and actual utilization. The findings may help in planning targeted awareness programs, improving service delivery, and enhancing access to physiotherapy services for rural communities

- •Patients attending SMBT Hospital during the study period Patients belonging to a rural background Age more than 18 years Both male and female patients Patients who are willing to participate and provide informed consent Patients who are medically stable and able to respond to the questionnaire interview.
排除标准
- •Patients from an urban background Patients who are critically ill or medically unstable Patients with severe cognitive impairment psychiatric illness or communication difficulties that prevent reliable responses Patients who refuse to participate or do not give informed consent Healthcare professionals or physiotherapy students staff.
