Brief Summary

Conclusion, the dependent patients need medical equipments but they were not a limitation for the transfer. The lifting by 2 lifters was recommended for lowering the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and the evacuation plan for dependent patients with medical equipments might have been established and drilled annually with all stakeholders.

Inclusion Criteria

phase I & III
1. live in 8 Hat Yai City Municipality-healthcare centers, Songkhla province, Thailand
2. score The Barthel Activity of Daily Living Index </= 8
3. need medical equipment

phase II
1. healthy males who were firefighters or municipal officials
2. between 20 and 60 years old
3. no recent back pain.
