Effect of acupuncture at UB15 and CV14 on Heart Rate Variability and Blood Pressure in patients with Hypertension: A Randomized Controlled Trial

简要总结
A randomized controlled trial will be adopted for the study. All the eligible subjects (n = 60) will be randomly divided into a study group (n = 30) and a control group (n = 30). The study group will undergo needling at acupuncture points UB15 and CV14 for 30 minutes per session, 7 days per week for 2 weeks. The control group will follow their daily normal routine and will not receive any acupuncture during the course of study. Heart rate variability, Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure, Mean arterial pressure and Pulse pressure will be measured before and after intervention on day 1 and on day 14 for both study group and control group.

入选标准
- •Diagnosed with hypertension according to standard clinical guidelines of European Society of Hypertension.
- •Willing to participate and provide informed consent.
排除标准
- •Patients with acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, renal artery stenosis, chronic kidney disease, pheochromocytoma, primary aldosteronism, etc.
- •Patients suffering from contagious diseases and other malignant diseases Women in pregnancy or lactation Patients with breakage, inflammation, scarring, etc, at the selected acupuncture point.
- •Patients with serious cardiac arrhythmia, recent myocardial infarction, recent episode of stroke, or heart failure.
- •History of psychosis or any other mental or intellectual abnormalities.
- •Patients with acupuncture needle phobia.
- •Participation in any other clinical trials.
