1. Patients experiencing low back pain radiating to lower limb (unilateral or bilateral)
since 3 months or more (ICD-10-CM diagnosis code M54.31); confirmed by straight leg
raising (SLR) test
2. Age between 18-65 years
3. Patients of either sex including transgenders
4. Literate patients; ability to read English, Bengali or Hindi and illiterate people will
be interviewed by the investigators maintaining adequate privacy to fill up the scales or
questionnaires
5. Willing to take part in the study and give written informed consent voluntarily.
1. Low back pain due to causes other than sciatica
2. Patient having other neurological condition such as previous spinalcord injuries
3. Patient having psychological or mental instability
4. Patients suffering from disc prolapse, cases willing for or requiring immediate
surgical intervention or already underwent any major spinal or hip surgery in last 6 months
5. Patients who are undergoing treatment with NSAIDs during 6 weeks prior to
enrolment in the study
6. Spinal corticosteroid injection within 6 months
7. Unconscious, non-ambulatory, too ill for consultation, differently abled,
terminally ill or critically ill patients, mentally disabled people
8. Patients suffering from uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases,
thyroid diseases
9. Pregnant and postpartum women, nursing mothers
10. Patients with the habit of tobacco chewing and/or smoking, alcoholism and/or
any other forms of substance abuse and/or dependence
11. Self-reported immune-compromised condition
12. Already been in homoeopathic treatment for any chronic illness for the last 6
months.
13. Simultaneous participation in any other clinical trial.
