Inclusion Criteria
- •Elderly patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty under general anesthesia were screened for inclusion.
- •The inclusion criteria were as follows:
- •1. The age of the patients ranged from 65 to 85;
- •2. American Association of anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status - class II and III;
- •3. Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) >= 24 points;
- •4. Agree to use patient-controlled intravenous analgesia pump.
Exclusion Criteria
- •1. Patients who are unable to communicate because of severe visual or hearing impairment;
- •2. Patients who refuse to sign informed consent;
- •3. Simultaneous knee arthroplasty;
- •4. Patients with preoperative delirium or Parkinson's disease;
- •5. Patients with recent history or conventional acupuncture treatment;
- •6. Patients with severe renal failure (Grade 6) need dialysis.
