Elderly patients scheduled for total knee arthroplasty under general anesthesia were screened for inclusion.
The inclusion criteria were as follows:
1. The age of the patients ranged from 65 to 85;
2. American Association of anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status - class II and III;
3. Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) >= 24 points;
4. Agree to use patient-controlled intravenous analgesia pump.
1. Patients who are unable to communicate because of severe visual or hearing impairment;
2. Patients who refuse to sign informed consent;
3. Simultaneous knee arthroplasty;
4. Patients with preoperative delirium or Parkinson's disease;
5. Patients with recent history or conventional acupuncture treatment;
6. Patients with severe renal failure (Grade 6) need dialysis.
