1. Human permanent 1st and 2nd maxillary and mandibular molars with mature apex.
2. Teeth with Class I or Class II carious lesions with good restorative prognosis.
3. Caries lesion involving inner two third of dentin as visualized on radiograph.
4. Clinical symptoms of reversible pulpitis.
5. Participants who experienced a preoperative pain score of less than 40 mm on visual analogue scale.
6. Early response to electric pulp test or thermal stimulation which does not linger.
7. No periapical changes viewed on periapical radiographs.
8. Healthy subjects.
1. Clinical symptoms of irreversible pulpitis requiring endodontic treatment.
2. Grossly carious teeth with poor restorative prognosis.
3. Presence of fistulas or swelling.
4. Mobile teeth or tenderness to percussion.
5. Delayed or no response to electric pulp test or thermal stimulation.
6. Participants who experienced a preoperative pain score of more than 40 mm onvisual analogue scale.
7. Participants younger than 18 year of age and older than 40 years of age.
8. Participants who have taken analgesics in the past 24 hours.
9. Presence of periapical pathosis.
10. Participants with systemic health conditions.
