Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus individuals with nephropathy having estimated glomerular filtration
  • rate between 15-90 ml/min/1.73m2 or with persistent proteinuria

Exclusion Criteria

  • Individuals with the following will be excluded such as Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes mellitus, stage 5 chronic kidney disease on dialysis or renal transplant, undergone any recent cardiovascular event/procedure in the last 6 months, severe anemia having hemoglobin levels less than 7g/dL, resting systolic blood pressure more than 160 mmHg &/or resting diastolic blood
  • pressure more than 110 mmHg, absolute contraindications to exercise testing and prescription (based
  • on ACSM), or presently enrolled/engaged in any structured supervised exercise
  • program or involved in vigorous activities, pregnant women and those receiving radiation or chemotherapy, any neuromuscular condition restricting exercise testing and
  • prescription, a peripheral arterial disease with ankle-brachial index(ABI) value less than 0.9,
  • newly developed diabetic foot ulcers or amputation of the lower limb
