简要总结
Balance is an important consideration for older populations. Balance disorders are the most common causes of falls in older adults and often lead to injury, disability, loss of independence, and limitations in quality of life. Falls are also associated with significant morbidity and mortality in the older population and are the most common cause of accidental death and nonfatal accidental injury. In clinical setting various test are available which can be used to assess the balance deficits, SEBT is one of them, which used to assess the balance deficits in young adults. It is reliable and valid measure of dynamic balance deficits, but its application in older population is not more available in literature and don’t have reference value. So, the current study will make an attempt to obtain reference value, it will identify the individual who are more susceptible to injury due to balance issues. Furthermore, the Star excursion balance test was designed for rehabilitation purposes; yet, to my knowledge, no research has used SEBT as a rehabilitation tool. Because of this, the current study uses it as rehabilitation among older adults to determine whether or not it lowers the chance of falling and enhances balance.
