Inclusion Criteria

symptomatic benign and malignant thyroid nodules who require total thyroidectomy as per ATA guidelines.

Exclusion Criteria

1. Patients not willing to participate in the study.

2. Patients who have pre and/or post op recurrent/ superior laryngeal nerve palsy.

3.Patients diagnosed with benign vocal fold lesions like vocal cord nodule, polyps, cysts and neuromuscular disorders which can independently affect voice.
