This study is a open label parallel group trial comparing the efficacy of Vaitaran basti (medicated enema) and Virechana karma in the management of Amavata (Rheumatoid Arthritis) In one group Vaitaran basti in the dose of 450 ml per day for 8 days will be given. In another group virechana karma will be given. The trial will be conducted in Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak
Sansthan India with primary outcome of improvement in Disease activity score and secondary outcome of improvement in Visual analouge scale .

入选标准
- •Patients with clinical features of Amavata as described in Madhav Nidan.
- •Patients between the age group of 21 to 50 years.
排除标准
- •Patients having severe crippling bone deformities and severely damaged joint with bed ridden patients.
- •Patients having any type of Arthropathy such as neoplasm of spine, Gout, Ankylosing spondylitis, Traumatic arthritis and pyogenic osteomyelitis and any other type of arthritis.
- •Patients having associated Cardiac disease, Tuberculosis, malignant hypertension, Impairment of Liver functions, Impairment of Renal functions, malignancy, HIV-AIDS etc.
- •Pregnant women and lactating mother.
- •Patients who develop secondary complication of RA e.g. Pleuro-pericardial diseases.
