Children reporting to the Out-Patient- department accompanied by their parents within the age group of 6-12 years.
Participants with FRANKLâ??s 3 AND 4 behaviour rating scale will be included. (Annexure II)
Participants with pre-operative heart rate as per the IAP guideline for 6-12 yrs. of age
Participants with atleast 2 primary teeth, requiring restoration involving dentin, each present in two different quadrants which requires local anesthesia using infiltration technique,
Participants with 2 primary teeth, requiring extraction with grade II/III mobile teeth each present in two different quadrants which requires local anesthesia using infiltration technique.
Children who are on analgesics in past one week.
Children with clinical or radiographic evidence of active infection. Eg: dental abscess ulcers and sinus tract.
Children with history of allergy or intolerance to ester local anesthetics para-amino-benzoic acid (an ester local anesthetic metabolite) epinephrine or sulfite preservatives.
Children who are medically compromised and those with special health care needs.
Children with any metal crowns in the oral cavity.
