we consecutively recruited asymptomatic average-risk adults aged 45 to 70 attending for their first lifetime colonoscopy screening at Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) Healthcare System Gangnam Center
We excluded following cases; colorectal disease-related symptoms or signs (eg, recent bowel habit change, unexplained weight loss, anemia or lower gastrointestinal tract bleeding not attributable to hemorrhoid), family history of colorectal cancer (at least one first-degree relative with colorectal cancer diagnosed at any age), past history of colorectal cancer or polyp, surgical resection of colon or rectum, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal tuberculosis, melanosis, severe diverticulosis, coagulopathy and incomplete examination of entire colon due to failure to reach the cecum or inadequate bowel preparation
