Inclusion Criteria
All patients with midline abdominal incisions either for elective or emergency abdominal surgery in Department of Surgery, JIPMER from May 2013 to June 2013
Exclusion Criteria
a) Patients who have had previous midline laparotomy
b) Patients with history of concurrent anticoagulant or corticosteroid therapy
c) Patients with factors that can affect wound healing like anaemia, prior wound infections and potential wound infections.
