Inclusion Criteria
Patients posted for elective above knee orthopedic surgeries
Patients between 18-75 years
ASA I II and III
Exclusion Criteria
Revision surgeries
Known allergy to any of the medications used
Patients with chronic pain on slow release preparation of opioids, drug or alcohol abuse
Patients with dementia or cognitive problems
Patients having history of inguinal hernia or infection in inguinal region
Coagulopathy or patients on anti coagulants
Patients with multiple fractures

Name Time Method To assess the total duration of post operative analgesia in both groupsTimepoint: Baseline, every 5 minutes for half an hour after giving the block, <br/ ><br>Postoperatively, every 2 hours for 24 hours.
