Comparison of Dry needling versus Injection withlocal anaesthetics in Painful points, known astrigger Points in Myofascial Pain Syndrome in active workingpopulation in West Bengal

- Brief Summary
This study is a Prospective Randomised study conducted with total 60 patients from OPD of ESI Institute of Pain Management , suffering from upper back Myofascial Pain for more than 3 months and not responding to oral medicines for 2 months and NRS pain score more than 4. They are divided in two groups randomly. Group A consists of 30 patients and they will be treated with 0.25% Bupivacaine and 4 mg dexamethasone with 24 G needle. Group B consists of 30 patients and will be treated only by dry needling with 24 G needle. Injections will be given weekly for 4 injections and NRS pain score will be noted before the 1st injection and after 1 week. Statistical analysis will be done according to appropriate test.

- Pain more than 3 months 2) Doesn’t relieve with multiple oral medications for last 2 months 4) Intensity of pain more than 4 according to NRS scoring.
- Local trauma 2) Tumour 3) Inflammation 4) Infection 5) On anticoagulant prophylaxis 6) Blood coagulation disorder 7) Pregnancy 8) Psychiatric illness 9) History of allergy to medication used for the study 10) Uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus.
