All individuals who meet the following criteria may participate:
Participants without a voice disorder who:
- do not report subjective distress regarding voice (have normal values in VHI, VFI, and VTD).
- have not had laryngitis in the last three months
- have not had any speech-language therapy due to a voice disorder
- self-report not having a voice problem
Participants with functional voice disorder who:
- have been diagnosed with a functional voice disorder by a specialist in phoniatrics and pediatric audiology or otolaryngology and are not yet receiving speech-language pathology treatment
- or are undergoing a phoniatric examination for evidence of a voice disorder since
- they themselves state that they suffer from a voice problem or
- they have abnormal values in VHI, VFI and VTD.
Participants with organic voice disorder who:
- have received a diagnosis of an organic voice disorder from a phoniatrist or otolaryngologist.
- they themselves state that they suffer from a voice problem or
- they have abnormal values in VHI, VFI and VTD

Name Time Method Evaluation of the laryngeal tension using once a new quantitative manual palpation tool (developed by Barsties & Thede, 2016).
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Subjective quality of voice life and evaluation of laryngeal symptoms of vocal fatigue and laryngeal paresthesias, using questionnaires (VHI, VFI, VTD) collected once.
