Inclusion Criteria
aged 18 to 60 years old who were overweight or obese with a BMI ≥ 23 kg/m2 and a fasting total cholesterol > 200 mg/dL, with no known metabolic-related diseases, no rice bran allergies, and no eating disorders.
Exclusion Criteria
smoked, drank alcohol, had diseases and/or took any medication and dietary supplements related to weight control
