Subjects with an age between 18 to 40 years.
Subjects having a diffuse continuous physiologic pigmentation of the gingiva, involving facial aspect of either maxillary second right premolar to second left premolar region or mandibular second left premolar to second right premolar.
Subjects with aesthetic concerns.
Periodontally healthy subjects.
Subjects with any systemic diseases and/or endocrinal disturbances.
Medically compromised subjects that have not been cleared by their physician for surgery.
Subjects with history of postsurgical keloid.
Subjects that are reluctant to stop their habit of smoking or chewing tobacco.
Pregnant and lactating women,
Subjects taking any long-term medication for duration ï?³2months.
Subjects with any metallic restoration in the area of intended treatment or undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Subjects with thin gingival biotype.
Subjects with any occlusal disharmony.
Subjects with missing anterior teeth.
Subjects with gingival pigmentation associated with occupational hazards.
Subjects with syndromes that are commonly associated with mucosal pigmentations (eg. Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, Mc Albrightâ??s syndrome, etc.)
Subjects of African descent/race.
Subjects that are reluctant to report for their follow-up appointments.
