Inclusion Criteria

Pre-existing asymptomatic or symptomatic ACI stenosis
- planned surgical treatment of an ACI-TEA under general anesthesia in the UHZ of the UKE unrelated to this study

Exclusion Criteria

- Age < 18 years
- Insufficient signal quality of the mSSEP or NIRS values

- Incidence of ischemia during carotid cross-clamping (mSSEP decrease >50% below baseline or an mSSEP latency extension of at least 10-20% of the respective baseline values before clamping)
