Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\. Ethnic group: Tamil speaking Dravidians
- •2\. Age \< 28 days (either gender)
- •3\. Clinically diagnosed sepsis with at least two screening tests positive such as mESR, CRP, CBC.
- •4\. No antibiotic treatment before blood sample collection
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Surgical procedures
- •2\. Maternal history of infections, inflammations or antibiotic therapy before delivery
- •3\. Apgar score \< 6 at 5 min
- •4\. Presence of congenital malformations.
