Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. 18 years of age or older
  • 2\. Singleton gestation
  • 3\. More than 34 weeks’ gestation
  • 4\. Vertex presentation
  • 5\. Ruptured membranes

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Patients on trial for vaginal delivery after cesarean section
  • 2\. Fetus with known congenital anomalies
  • 3\. Chorioamnionitis
  • 4\. Preeclampsia/Hemolysis Elevated Liver Enzymes Low Platelets (HELLP) syndrome
  • 5\. Suspected Small for Gestational Age (SGA)/Intra\-uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)
  • 6\. Stillbirth
  • 7\. Maternal pulmonary disease with O2 saturation in labor \< 95%
  • 8\. Any condition that precludes ROM or vaginal delivery (placenta praevia)
  • 9\. Malpresentation
  • 10\. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) disease
