Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1\. 18 years of age or older
  • •2\. Singleton gestation
  • •3\. More than 34 weeks’ gestation
  • •4\. Vertex presentation
  • •5\. Ruptured membranes

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Patients on trial for vaginal delivery after cesarean section
  • •2\. Fetus with known congenital anomalies
  • •3\. Chorioamnionitis
  • •4\. Preeclampsia/Hemolysis Elevated Liver Enzymes Low Platelets (HELLP) syndrome
  • •5\. Suspected Small for Gestational Age (SGA)/Intra\-uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)
  • •6\. Stillbirth
  • •7\. Maternal pulmonary disease with O2 saturation in labor \< 95%
  • •8\. Any condition that precludes ROM or vaginal delivery (placenta praevia)
  • •9\. Malpresentation
  • •10\. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) disease
