Physical activity has been shown to play an important role in maintaining both physical and cognitive health. Working memory is a key cognitive function required for learning, attention, and clinical decision-making, particularly among physiotherapy students. However, increasing academic demands and sedentary lifestyles may negatively influence both physical activity levels and cognitive performanceThis study aims to evaluate the correlation between physical activity levels and working memory among physiotherapy students. A cross-sectional correlational study will be conducted among undergraduate physiotherapy students aged 18 to 30 years at the SRM College of Physiotherapy. Physical activity levels will be assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ–Short Form) and objective activity data obtained from the Google Fit application. Working memory will be evaluated using the Digit Span Test (Forward and Backward) from the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV) The findings of this study are expected to provide insight into the association between physical activity and working memory performance in physiotherapy students, highlighting the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle to support cognitive function and academic performance

排除标准

  • Students with Diagnosed neurological problems Students taking medicines for longer Duration Students with recent injuries or illnesses affecting physical activity.
