Utilising Perfusion Index to predict fall in blood pressure in pregnant patients with Pregnancy Induced Hypertension undergoing cesarean section under spinal anesthesia

Not yet recruiting
Conditions
Gestational [pregnancy-induced] hypertension without significant proteinuria, complicating childbirth,
Registration Number
CTRI/2023/08/056854
Lead Sponsor

Brief Summary

Aim is to assess the correlation of perfusion index as a predictor of Post spinal hypotension in parturients with PIH undergoing cesarean section.

Total 104 patients will be enrolled for this study according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Study is Prospective Observational Non randomised study.

Written and informed consent will be taken.

Baseline Perfusion index,Blood pressure,Heart rate and oxygen saturation(spo2) will be measure in the pre-anaesthetic room. This will be time point A.

Parturient will be given spinal anaesthesia under all aseptic precautions with 25G quincke’s needle with  10 mg(2 ml) 0.5% (H) bupivacaine and patiets wiil be made to lie in a supine positon with 15 degrees left lateral tilt and values of perfusion index,Blood pressure,Heart rate and Oxygen saturation(spo2) will be measured at

Time point B: 1 minute after spinal anaesthesia

Time point C:2 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Time point D:3 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Time point E:4 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Time point F:5 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Time point G:7 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Time point H:10 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Time point I:15 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Time point F:20 minutes after spinal anaesthesia

Primary Objective is to evaluate the predictability of perfusion index as an objective tool for post spinal hypotension in parturients with PIH undergoing cesarean section.
