For Case Group,
1. Adult â?? onset unilateral upper motor neuron dysarthria, of any etiology, diagnosed by a speech language pathologist
2. Diagnosis of the neurological condition confirmed by neurologist
3. No premorbid history of any neurological disorders.
4. Fluent Kannada speakers within the age range of 20 â?? 80 years
5. Minimum of 4 years of basic education.
For Control Group,
1. Age and gender matched individuals
2. Healthy individuals with normal speech.
3. Fluent Kannada speakers
4. Age range of 20 â?? 80 years
5. Minimum of 4 years of basic education.
For Case Group,
1.Participants with associated cognitive deficits / tracheostomy
2. Persons with sensory impairment (hearing / vision)
3. Participants with report of speech / swallowing / language problems prior to disease onset
For Control Group,
1. Participants with speech or language difficulty/ hearing loss /visual impairment / cognitive deficits.
