ARDS is one of the major cause of deaths in ICU. Due to multiple etiological factors it’s even more challenging to understand ARDS in terms of progression, prognostication and outcome prediction. Metabolomics is an emerging approach for identifying and quantifying metabolites in biofluids, cells, and tissues.
It allows for the simultaneous evaluation of a large set of metabolites/biological compounds in a single sample, thus providing an integrative snapshot view of biological systems.
ARDS is a clinical syndrome characterized by acute hypoxemic respiratory failure due to lung inflammation, pulmonary vascular hyper permeability, non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema secondary to direct or indirect lung injury, including sepsis, pneumonia, trauma, aspiration pneumonia, pancreatitis, and other critical clinical conditions.
This observational cross sectional study aims to better understand the clinical effect of causative factors of ARDS using NMR based metabolomics and setup metabolite credentials for the same.

- •ARDS patients diagnosed by berlin criteria or new global definition of ARDS Admitted in ICU and on ventilator support for more than 24 hours Patients or relatives giving written informed consent for study.
排除标准
- •Age less than 18 years or more than 65 years Pregnancy Patient or relatives refusal.
