A Trial of Chemotherapy with or without Bevacizumab for Cancer of the Oesophagus, Stomach or the Junction of the Stomach and OesophagusCancer of the stomach is the 6th most common cancer in the UK, causing over 5000 deaths each year. All treatments aimed at cure involve surgery, but when it is used alone only around 20% of patients are alive after 5 years.
