Inclusion Criteria
1. All patients registered in the emergency department with complaints of chest pain less than 4 hours duration.
2. Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) changes on an electrocardiogram.
Exclusion Criteria
1. History of either recent muscle injury or renal insufficiency (defined as serum creatinine N200 µmol/L)
2. Refused consent to study
3. Transferred to the study hospital from another medical facility
