Inclusion Criteria
- •preterm infants mechanically ventilated
- •requiring peripherally induced central catheterization
- •with informed consent of their parents
Exclusion Criteria
- •major congenital anomalies
- •cardiopulmonary instability
- •use of sedative, antiepileptic drugs or anesthetic drugs
- •grade III or IV intraventricular hemorrhage
