A Clinical study on the Homoeopathic Management of External Haemorrhoids using VAS Scale

Haemorrhoids are dilated veins within the anal canal in the subepithelial region formed by radicles of the superior, middle and inferior rectal veins. Haemorrhoids are clearly divided into two categories – internal and external. Internal Haemorrhoids means it is within the anal canal and internal to the orifice. It is covered with mucus membrane and it is bright red or purple in colour. It usually commences at the anorectal ring and ends at the dentate line. External Haemorrhoids is situated outside the anal orifice and is covered by skin. It may also be divided into primary and secondary. Secondary Haemorrhoids are secondary to few conditions. The incidence of piles apparently increases with age, and it seems likely that at least 50% of people over the age of 50 years having some form of Haemorrhoidal formation. However, the disease is by no means confined to older individuals, and piles are encountered in people of all ages, including, occasionally, young children. Men are seem to be affected roughly twice as frequently as women.
