Presence of minimum 20 natural teeth excluding third molars, Signs of gingival inflammation corresponding with chronic gingivitis, Modified Gingival Index(MGI) by Lobene in 1986, Gingival bleeding index(GBI) by Ainamo and Bay 1975 >30% of sites.
1)Subjects who have received any form of periodontal therapy, surgical or non surgical within past 6 months.
2)Subjects who have received antibiotic and or anti inflammatory therapy within the past 6 months.
3)Subjects wearing orthodontic or prosthetic appliances.
4)Immunologically and systemically compromised subjects.
5)Subjects who give present or past history of drug abuse, smoking.
6)Subjects on regular use of calcium antagonist, anticonvulsants, immunostimulants or immunosuppresants.
7)History of known allergies to constituents found in conventional mouthrinse.
8)Subjects with a habit of mouthbreathing.
9)Subjects with lip piercing, tongue piercing.
10)Physically debilitated subjects.
11)Pregnant women and lactating mothers.
12)Subjects with untreated grossly carious teeth.
